- Dominic Larochelle, psychoeducator, counsellor and clinical advisor, Centre Ex-Equo
With a master's degree in social work, Jihane Essaid is interested in analyzing the life paths of male perpetrators of domestic violence, with a particular focus on the psychosocial dynamics that contribute to the development of violent behavior. With over seventeen years' experience in the protection of vulnerable populations - including children, refugees, immigrants and women survivors of domestic violence - she spent nine years as a manager and clinical advisor at three women's shelters. She participated in the development of service trajectories and standardized procedures adapted to the realities of these environments. She also worked on the evaluation of the Living Without Violence program as a research assistant, contributing to data collection and writing the final report.
Dominic Larochelle is a psychoeducator by profession, as well as a counsellor and clinical advisor in the Domestic Violence intervention program at Centre Ex-Equo. He has been working with the organization for 10 years, and has previous experience working with adolescents with behavioral problems, in education and socio-professional integration. Having also worked in the organization's sexual violence department, he has a broad understanding of the issues associated with transgressive behavior. His expertise is underpinned as much by his practical experience with clients as by his clinical, advocacy and organizational development activities.
